Police are investigating a series of arson attacks in Dinas Powys, where four cars were set ablaze, including one belonging to a deceased woman
Dinas Powys: So, here’s the scoop. Four cars went up in flames during the early hours of last Saturday. It’s pretty shocking, right? One of those cars belonged to a woman who had just passed away two days before. Talk about a double whammy for her family.
The fires were all set between 1:50 AM and 2:10 AM. Two cars were parked on Stacey Street, while another was on Cross Common Road, and the last one was in Wenvoe. Police are pretty sure this was no accident and are looking for anyone who might have seen something.
A spokesperson from South Wales Police said they really need help figuring this out. They’re especially concerned about the car that belonged to the grieving husband. It’s just heartbreaking, especially so close to Christmas.
Detective Sergeant Dave Nugent mentioned how upsetting car crime can be, and it’s even worse when it hits home like this. If anyone has any info or footage, they should reach out to the police. They can contact South Wales Police online or call 101. There’s also Crimestoppers if you want to stay anonymous.
