Thomas Philip Noel Crowley, a former mayor, tragically passed away after being hit by a car in Port Talbot
Port Talbot: It’s a sad day for the community. Former mayor Thomas Philip Noel Crowley was hit by a car while crossing the street. He was 86 years old and well-loved in the area.
The accident happened on December 7, around 5:45 PM. Mr. Crowley was crossing Water Street when a Skoda Fabia struck him. The driver stayed at the scene, and good Samaritans rushed to help until paramedics arrived.
Sadly, Mr. Crowley suffered severe head injuries and passed away three days later in the hospital. The driver, a 20-year-old, was arrested for driving under the influence and other charges. The investigation is still ongoing.
His family shared a heartfelt tribute, remembering him as a devoted husband and community servant. He was known for his kindness and wisdom, having served as a local councillor and mayor.
Mr. Crowley was married to his wife Anne for over 70 years. They were inseparable, and he was a dedicated family man, especially caring for his grandson with autism. He loved golf and made many friends at the local club.
His family described him as a great storyteller who brought joy to everyone around him. They are heartbroken by his loss but cherish the memories he left behind. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
