A shoplifter brandished a knife at a security guard before fleeing on a bike, leaving the guard shaken and affected by the incident.

In court, he tried to downplay the whole thing, saying he only had the knife because he was helping a buddy with some carpeting. But the guard was really shaken up by the whole incident, struggling with sleep and confidence issues.
Stuart, who’s 25 and has a long history of theft-related crimes, admitted to having the knife and stealing from the store. He was caught later and, during questioning, he initially acted like nothing happened.
Eventually, he confessed that he did plan to steal but claimed he didn’t remember the confrontation. He even tried to say the knife was just a key ring, but he knew it had a blade.
