A car was set ablaze in a Crewe park early Sunday, prompting police to investigate the suspected arson.
Firefighters and police rushed to the park around 3am after getting reports of the blaze. When they arrived, the car was already engulfed in flames.
A photo from the scene showed the car burning on the grass, and it was clear that this wasn’t just an accident. The fire crew had to use special gear and hoses to put it out.
The police are treating this as a deliberate act and are asking anyone who might have seen something suspicious to come forward. They’re especially interested in any video footage from that time.
Local PCSO Lizzie Jolley is warning kids to steer clear of the muddy area where the car was burned. She’s also urging parents to keep their children away until it’s cleaned up.
The recovery team did a great job getting the wreck out of the park, even though it was a tough task. It’s nice to see the community coming together to deal with this mess.
