Cardiff: So, you won’t believe what happened! A fire engine ended up in the River Taff during a training session. It was all caught on CCTV, and it’s pretty wild.

The footage shows a firefighter slipping around, and then, bam! The fire engine skids right into the river. Talk about a slippery situation!

This little mishap happened outside the Llandaff Rowing Club on January 7. A bunch of firefighters were there, and soon after, they had to pull the engine out of the water.

People online had a good laugh about it. One person joked about how they fill fire trucks with water, while another said someone was definitely going to be in trouble for this one.

It all went down just before a serious cold snap hit the UK. Temperatures dropped way below freezing, with some areas hitting minus 13.9C. Brr!

Freezing fog was also causing trouble in southern England and Northern Ireland, making things even icier. The Met Office warned folks to be careful out there.

The UK Health Security Agency even extended its cold weather alert for all of England. They’re worried about the elderly and those with health issues during this chilly spell.

As for the weather, it looks like Sunday might bring slightly warmer temps, but it’s still going to be pretty cold overall. The fire engine incident was just a reminder of how slippery things can get!

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said no one got hurt, and they managed to recover the engine. They even contacted the local authority to grit the car park to prevent more slips.

And that’s the scoop! Just another day in Cardiff, right?
