A fire at Bodmin College is being treated as suspected arson after crews responded to the blaze early this morning
Bodmin: Early this morning, fire crews in Cornwall rushed to Bodmin College to deal with a fire that was likely set on purpose. It all kicked off just after midnight.
Two fire engines from Bodmin showed up and found a bin ablaze in the lobby, plus a couple of other fires inside the building. It took them over 90 minutes to get everything under control, and they even had to call for backup while keeping the police in the loop.
The Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service reported that they arrived at 12:14 AM and quickly located the burning bin. They discovered three separate fire spots and managed to put them out using a hose reel jet. The crews were busy for quite a while, over ninety minutes in total.
Authorities are treating this incident as suspected arson. If anyone has any info, they’re encouraged to reach out to the police at 101 and mention incident number 24 from January 4, 2025.
