VisitBritain launches a campaign to showcase West Midlands filming locations to attract tourists
Birmingham: The West Midlands is getting some Hollywood love. A new campaign by VisitBritain will highlight local filming spots. It’s called ‘Starring GREAT Britain.’
This campaign will target tourists from the USA, Australia, France, Germany, and the Gulf countries. It aims to show off places used in films and TV shows.
People love to visit locations they’ve seen on screen. This trend is called ‘set jetting.’ The campaign hopes to inspire more visitors to explore the West Midlands and spend money locally.
To kick things off, a new tourist guide has been launched. It features famous and lesser-known filming locations in the West Midlands. The 24-page brochure is perfect for visitors.
Some highlights include the Black Country Living Museum in Dudley, featured in Peaky Blinders, and Grand Central in Birmingham from Mission Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. Coventry Cathedral is also included, known for This Town and Nativity!
The guide offers destination profiles, fun facts, and tips on where to eat, stay, and enjoy the local scene like a Hollywood star.
