London: Ferne McCann, the TV star, recently shared that a childhood accident involving an ice skate didn’t scare her away from skating. At just seven years old, she had an ice skate stuck in her leg during a party. But now, she’s ready to shine on this year’s Dancing On Ice.

At 34, she’s partnered with pro skater Brendyn Hatfield and is excited yet nervous about performing live. She mentioned how she’s trying to embrace those nerves instead of letting them get the best of her.

Ferne recalled the incident, saying, “I had an ice skating party when I was about seven, and my only experience was that an ice skate got stuck in my leg.” But she’s not letting that stop her. “It didn’t put me off,” she added, showing her determination to skate again.

She first gained fame on the reality show The Only Way Is Essex and has since starred in her own series, Ferne McCann: First Time Mum. She even made a splash on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, finishing third in her season.

As she prepares for Dancing On Ice, Ferne is all about positivity. She admitted that the thought of skating live makes her nervous, but she’s focusing on visualizing success. “I just really want to enjoy it now,” she said, highlighting the magic of the show.

Another competitor, Michaela Strachan, is also feeling the pressure. She’s excited yet anxious about her debut, having trained hard but taking a break over Christmas. She’s used to live TV but admits skating adds a whole new level of challenge.

With the show returning on January 12, Ferne and Michaela are ready to face their fears and bring their best to the ice. It’s all about mindset, and both are determined to make the most of this experience.
