The FBI has shared unsettling video clips of a suspect before a tragic New Orleans incident
New Orleans: The FBI has put out some pretty unsettling video clips. They show Shamsud Din Jabbar before he carried out a deadly attack on Bourbon Street.
In total, there are five clips. They show Jabbar’s movements leading up to the tragic events on New Year’s Day. The footage is a mix of CCTV and recordings he made with his Meta glasses.
Jabbar was dressed in military gear and had an ISIS flag in his truck when he drove into a crowd around 3:15 AM. Sadly, 14 people lost their lives, and at least 35 were hurt. The FBI says he acted alone.
This 42-year-old man, originally from Texas, even shot at police before he was killed at the scene. The FBI’s YouTube video runs for about 3 minutes and 49 seconds, piecing together clips of his disturbing actions.
The first clip shows him cycling through the French Quarter on October 31. Another shows him testing his glasses at home. It’s chilling to see how he was planning everything out.
One clip captures him leaving an IED in a cooler at Bourbon Street just before the attack. It was later moved by unsuspecting visitors. Another clip shows him placing a second IED in a bucket-style cooler.
In the final clip, you can see him walking towards his truck to grab that second cooler. His long brown coat was found in the truck after the attack.
Since the incident, the FBI has received over 400 tips from the public. They’re sifting through tons of surveillance footage from the French Quarter and other areas to piece together what happened.
