Kirkby is buzzing with excitement as it gears up for a major transformation, bringing new retail spaces and boosting the local economy
The council is really focused on making Kirkby a better place, and they’ve already made some impressive strides since buying the town center back in 2019. They’ve rolled out several projects that are helping to transform the area, including a new train station and a retail extension that’s given the local economy a nice boost.
With these changes, the town has seen a whopping 160% increase in foot traffic! That’s a big deal, and it shows that people are excited about what’s happening in Kirkby. The council is also looking to develop a new “Kirkby Gateway” site, which could bring in homes, a hotel, and office spaces.
Councillor Tony Brennan is thrilled about the new retail phase and believes it will meet the community’s needs. He’s optimistic about attracting new tenants and expanding the shopping options in Kirkby. It’s a fantastic time for the town, and everyone is eager to see what’s next!
