A beloved family hub in Tiverton has been beautifully revamped to better serve the community
Tiverton: A family-friendly spot in Tiverton just got a fantastic makeover, thanks to the local Rotary Club. The Uplift charity runs a cozy hub where families with little ones can come together, learn, and connect. They host regular Play and Stay sessions and Baby Groups, making it a great place for parents to meet up.
Uplift is especially helpful for families who might not qualify for other support services. They offer free information and professional help without needing referrals. It’s a real lifesaver for those who might fall through the cracks.
Peter Labdon, the Rotary Club President, led the charge on the renovations. They raised £1,500 during the Rotary Fun Day to spruce up the space. It’s amazing what a little community effort can do!
Plus, the Interact Club from Tiverton High School got involved too. They decorated the babies’ play area in black and red, which is super important for newborns since they can see those colors best. It’s all about making the space welcoming and engaging for the little ones.
Uplift relies on donations and fundraising to keep going, and they really want everyone in Tiverton to know about their services. They have a dedicated team of Trustees who are passionate about helping families in the area.
John Timperley, the founder, is an orthopaedic surgeon who started Uplift to create positive experiences for families with young kids. He’s all about making life better for those under five.
