The search for Eliza Huszti continues after a body was found near Aberdeen, where she and her sister went missing earlier this month
The body was discovered on Friday morning, east of the Aberdeen Boat Club. Police haven’t confirmed the identity yet, but they have informed Henrietta Huszti’s family.
Eliza Huszti, also 32, is still missing. The sisters disappeared after leaving their flat early on January 7. They are part of a set of triplets.
The sisters moved from Hungary to Scotland ten years ago. They told their landlord they wouldn’t return to their flat around 2:12 AM on January 7. CCTV captured them walking near the River Dee at that time.
Police Scotland reported no signs of foul play. Divers and a marine unit are searching the river and banks between the Queen Elizabeth Bridge and Victoria Bridge.
Superintendent David Howieson expressed concern for the Huszti family. He assured them they are keeping them updated on the search efforts.
The search is focused on the River Dee, where the body was found. Investigators believe the sisters likely did not leave the area after they were last seen.
The river conditions are challenging, but the search will continue. Experts are providing guidance to help with the ongoing efforts.
Police are treating this as a missing persons case, not a criminal investigation. They found that the sisters visited the Queen Elizabeth Bridge the day before they went missing.
The last sighting was on Market Street at Victoria Bridge around 2:12 AM on January 7. They crossed the bridge and walked toward the river. Concerns about their safety led to the missing persons report later that day.
Mr. Howieson thanked the public for their support and urged anyone with information to come forward. Anyone with details can contact Police Scotland at 101, quoting incident number 0735 from January 7.
