Next, we have Skenfrith Castle, part of the famous ‘Three Castles of Gwent.’ This one dates back to the early 12th century and was built to defend against Welsh attacks.
Then there’s Raglan Castle, which has a fascinating history. It was built between 1435 and 1525 and saw some serious action during the English Civil War.
Local lore tells of a ghostly librarian who hid precious books in a secret tunnel to protect them from destruction. How cool is that?
Don’t forget Cardiff Castle! If you’ve been to the Welsh capital, you’ve probably seen it. It’s got a rich history, built on a Roman fort, and is said to be haunted by its former owners.
