The €2,000 Carer’s Support Grant will be paid on June 5, 2025, benefiting eligible caregivers across Ireland
Dublin: Great news for caregivers! Three social welfare groups are set to receive a €2,000 grant later this year. This is part of the Budget 2025 changes, which raised the Carer’s Support Grant from €1,850 to €2,000. It’s a one-time payment for those who care for others, and they can use it however they like.
Some folks spend it on care-related items, while others might use it for everyday bills like utilities. The best part? If you’re caring for more than one person, you’ll get a payment for each one. It’s automatically given to those on Carer’s Allowance, Carer’s Benefit, and Domiciliary Care Allowance.
So, when can you expect this payment? Mark your calendars for June 5, 2025! If you’re already receiving one of the qualifying payments, you don’t need to do anything; it’ll come to you automatically.
But if you’re not on those payments, don’t worry! You can still apply for the grant. Just make sure you meet a few criteria, like being over 16 and caring for someone full-time for at least six months.
During that time, you can’t work more than 18.5 hours a week or take part in any training that exceeds that limit. If you’re eligible, you can apply from April of the year you want the grant until December of the following year.
For more details, check with your local Intreo Centre or Social Welfare office. It’s a great opportunity to get some financial support while you’re doing such important work!
