Stuart Hogg has been sentenced after admitting to five years of abuse towards his estranged wife, Gillian Hogg, in Selkirk.
Selkirk: So, former Scotland rugby captain Stuart Hogg has found himself in some serious trouble. He’s been sentenced to a community payback order after admitting to abusing his estranged wife, Gillian, for five long years.
He showed up at Selkirk Sheriff Court and pleaded guilty to one charge of domestic abuse. It’s pretty shocking, really. He was accused of shouting, swearing, and even tracking her movements. Not cool at all.
When he was sentenced, the court gave him a year of supervision and slapped on a five-year non-harassment order. That means he can’t go near Gillian or contact her for five years. Good call, if you ask me.
Just a few months back, he breached bail conditions by bombarding her with messages. One night, he sent her 28 texts! Can you imagine? The sheriff wasn’t having any of it and fined him £600 on top of everything else.
It’s a tough situation, and it’s sad to see someone who was once a sports hero end up like this. Let’s hope he gets the help he needs and that Gillian can find some peace.
