A former police officer is in court this week for allegedly having a relationship with a vulnerable woman he met during an investigation
Leicester: So, there’s this former cop, Daniel Jackson, who’s heading to court soon. He’s in hot water for allegedly getting involved with a vulnerable woman while he was on the job.
Apparently, he met her during an investigation with Leicestershire Police. Things got a bit messy, as he reportedly started a sexual relationship with her between May and June 2022. Not cool, right?
The Independent Office for Police Conduct looked into it and found that the woman was in a tough spot at the time. They took it seriously and did a three-month investigation after Leicestershire Police referred the case to them.
In September 2022, they handed over their findings to the Crown Prosecution Service, which decided to charge him. Jackson, who quit the force last September, is now facing charges for misconduct in a public office.
He’s set to appear in Leicester Magistrates Court this week. It’s a pretty big deal, and people are definitely talking about it.
