Barking: So, it looks like Essex is in for a bit of a rough ride with several road closures happening this month. They’re doing some major repair work, and it’s going to affect a lot of folks. But hey, at least one road that’s been closed for a while is finally set to reopen soon.

According to the Local Democracy Reporting Service, there are quite a few closures lined up for January. For instance, Longbridge Road in Barking is closed eastbound from Forterie Gardens to Goodmayes Lane. This closure started last Thursday and is expected to wrap up by January 10. It’s all because Cadent Gas is doing some emergency repairs.

Then there’s Stratton Drive, which is also closed until Friday for some urgent work by Essex and Suffolk Water. This one’s been shut since Monday afternoon, but it should be back open by the end of the week. The council has put up signs to help folks find their way around, so it’s best to avoid those areas if you can.

Oh, and don’t forget about Alfreds Way! It’s going to be closed starting Tuesday night while Transport for London does their thing. Not sure what they’re up to, but it’ll be closed until early Wednesday morning.

Freshwater Road in Dagenham is another one to watch. It’s going to stay closed until January 19 because of the ongoing demolition of the Spectrum Building, which caught fire last August. Pedestrians can still get through, but cars are out of luck for now.

Lastly, Cranborne Road will be shut on January 31 for some repair work by Thames Water. If you want to stay in the loop about all these closures, check out the council’s website for updates.
