Oxygen Activeplay in Essex invites families for a free day of fun on January 20
Essex: A soft play and activity centre is opening its doors for free later this month. Oxygen Activeplay is inviting over 10,000 people to shake off the Monday blues and bounce their worries away. All 12 of its parks will be free for a whole day.
In Essex, they have two centres—Romford and Rayleigh. January 20 is known as “Blue Monday,” a day when many feel a bit down after the holidays. But Oxygen Activeplay wants to change that by letting everyone bounce and play for free, helping to lift spirits.
Recent research led by Professor Helen Dodd from the University of Exeter shows that adventurous play can really boost kids’ mental health. It’s all about having fun and feeling excited!
Oxygen Romford and Rayleigh will host nine free sessions throughout the day. Families can book these sessions on the Oxygen website. Kids of all ages can jump, climb, and play on trampolines, a giant airbag, climbing walls, and more.
The Hero Crew at both locations will be there to keep the energy high with fun dances and games. There will even be special sessions for toddlers, and local community groups are invited to join in the fun during the afternoons.
To snag tickets for these free sessions, parents need to sign up for the Oxygen mailing list by January 12. Exclusive booking links will be sent out the next day, and it’s first-come, first-served!
Professor Dodd emphasizes that more adventurous play leads to less anxiety and happier kids. Indoor play centres like Oxygen are perfect for this, especially in winter when the weather can keep kids indoors.
Natasha Waterfield, COO of Oxygen Activeplay, said they’re on a mission to give families a place to have fun. They want to turn Blue Monday into a day of joy for 10,000 people. It’s all about getting active and enjoying time with family and friends!
