Motorists in Hull should stay informed about ongoing and upcoming roadworks to avoid delays and plan their routes effectively
Hull: Roadworks can be a real pain for drivers, but they’re important for keeping our roads in good shape. Once everything’s done, traffic should flow much better.
There are some long-term projects happening, plus a few shorter ones coming up. Hull City Council has shared a complete list of what’s going on, so you can stay in the loop.
For instance, the A63 from St James Street to Market Place is undergoing major improvements, with lane closures expected until Spring 2026. That’s a big one!
Then there’s the A63 Castle Street, which will have overnight closures until the end of January. If you’re heading that way, plan ahead.
Gas works are also taking place on Bankside from February 4 to 10, and Boulevard will be closed for road reconstruction from February 10 to March 2.
Calvert Lane will see gas works too, with closures from February 15 to 23. And don’t forget about Ellis Street, where level crossing maintenance will close the road on February 11 and 12.
Ferensway has lane closures due to gas works until February 14, while Greystone Avenue will be closed until January 31 for the same reason.
There’s also work happening on Guildhall Road, which includes paving and drainage improvements, with lane closures until October 31, 2025.
Hastings Grove and Hawthorn Avenue will have gas works and maintenance, respectively, with various closures in place.
High Street is undergoing public realm works, so expect closures until February 25. Ilford Road will be closed until March 18, 2025, for new drainage installations.
Other areas like Princes Dock Street, Salthouse Road, and Summergangs Road will also see closures for various works throughout February.
