Aberdeen: So, here’s the scoop. Rail services in the north-east are going to be a bit of a mess for the next couple of weekends. They’re doing some engineering work, and it’s going to cause delays.

This weekend, passengers should expect some hiccups. Replacement buses will be running between Dundee and Aberdeen. And guess what? It’s happening again next Sunday, January 12.

The work is happening between Dundee and Montrose. All lines will be closed on Sunday because they’re removing a footbridge in Carnoustie that’s not safe anymore.

If you’re catching a ScotRail train from Glasgow Queen Street, it’ll only take you as far as Dundee. Then, you’ll have to hop on a bus to get to Aberdeen. The same goes for trains from Edinburgh; they’ll stop at Dundee too.

Next weekend, on the 18th and 19th, the line from Stirling to Perth will be closed for more engineering work. This means longer travel times for anyone going from Aberdeen to Glasgow. Buses will replace trains between Glasgow Queen Street and Perth, but don’t worry, services from Aberdeen to Edinburgh will still be running as usual.
