Family and friends remember Rob Love, a dedicated father and veteran, who tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident
Wiltshire: An emotional tribute has been shared for Rob Love, a 62-year-old man who sadly died in a motorcycle accident. The crash happened on December 17 last year.
Rob was riding his Yamaha YP 400 when he collided with a Volkswagen Taigo on the A350 West Ashton. Emergency services arrived quickly, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His family described him as a devoted husband and grandfather who will be deeply missed. He was married to his wife Sue for 37 years and had a real passion for biking.
In their tribute, his family shared how Rob was a loving husband, father, and gramps to his three grandkids. He grew up in Edinburgh after being born to military parents in England and served in the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards for 13 years, including during the Gulf War.
Rob met Sue in Warminster in 1987, and they tied the knot the next year. They spent over 30 years in Westbury, where Rob loved walking his dogs and hanging out with his neighbors, especially during the pandemic.
He was also a keen scooter rider and enjoyed events with the local biking group, the Maxi Muppets. His family will miss him dearly, saying, “You will forever be my always.”
After the crash, the A350 was closed for about nine hours while police investigated. Wiltshire Police are asking anyone who saw the accident or has dash cam footage to reach out to their Serious Collision Investigation Team.
