The A470 will close for emergency repairs, causing significant detours for drivers in the area. Stay updated on the situation!
Dolgarrog: So, here’s the scoop. The A470 is shutting down in both directions for some emergency work. It’s happening between Maenan and Tal-y-Cafn, right near the old Dolgarrog train station.
Traffic Wales has given us the heads-up that Dwr Cymru is behind this closure. Just last week, a big mains burst left a whopping 40,000 homes without water. Yikes!
This new issue is a smaller burst, but it still means they need to dig up part of the A470. The good news? It won’t affect your water supply, so you can still fill up your kettle.
The closure kicks off at 7 PM tonight and is expected to last until 5 PM on Friday. So, if you’re planning to drive that way, you’ll want to find another route.
Traffic Wales has mapped out a major diversion. You’ll be rerouted onto the A55 and A5 to get around the roadworks. Of course, there are shorter local routes you can take if you know the area well.
They’ve made it clear: “Emergency road closure on A470 between Maenan and Tal-Y-Cafn. Road closed both directions for emergency works by Dŵr Cymru. Diversion along the A55.”
Dwr Cymru reassured everyone that while they need to close this section to fix a leak, it won’t impact customers. They’re on it and want to get the road back open as soon as possible.
They also apologized for any hassle this might cause. So, if you’re out and about, just keep an eye on the signs and plan your route accordingly!
