Major roadworks on Nottingham Road in Chaddesden will start next month, causing overnight closures for eight weeks to improve the route.
Derby: So, guess what? Starting next month, there’s going to be some big roadworks on Nottingham Road in Chaddesden. It’s going to last for eight weeks, and they’re warning drivers that the road will be closed overnight.
The plan is to resurface a big chunk of the road, and they’ll be working at night to keep things running smoothly during the day. The closures will happen from 10 PM to 6 AM, Monday to Friday, but they’ll try to keep the road open on weekends.
You’ll see signs for detours along the A52, so keep an eye out for those. The work will be done in phases, and here’s how it breaks down: first, they’ll tackle the Chaddesden Park Road junction, then move on to the service road, and so on until they cover everything up to Acorn Way.
Councillor Carmel Swan from the council mentioned that they’re really focused on improving transport in the area. She knows it’s going to be a bit of a hassle for folks living nearby, but they’re doing their best to keep the disruption to a minimum.
The work is set to kick off on Monday, February 3, right after they finish up on Derby Road. Just a heads up, the schedule might change a bit if the weather doesn’t cooperate.
