Cambridge: A village road near Cambridge is shutting down next week. Conington Road will be closed for a week starting Wednesday, January 8, for some roadworks.

Cambridgeshire County Council is handling the work, which involves resurfacing the road. They’ll be working daily from 7:30 AM to 5 PM.

The closure will last until January 15. During this time, a diversion route will be set up, so drivers should plan their trips accordingly.

A council spokesperson mentioned that Conington Road will be off-limits to all vehicles during those hours for the roadworks.

The detour will take drivers along Cambridge Road, Huntingdon Road, the A1307 Local Access Road, High Street, and Elsworth Road. Expect an extra eight miles and about 13 minutes added to your journey.
