Paris: So, there was this fire alarm at the Eiffel Tower, and it caused quite a scene. Hundreds of folks had to evacuate while emergency crews rushed in to handle things.

Turns out, a technical glitch might have caused a short circuit. Firefighters had a bit of a tough time getting to the spot, which was thought to be in the elevator shaft between the first and second floors.

Luckily, no one got hurt, and everything was sorted out pretty quickly. There are some photos floating around showing emergency crews at work while onlookers watched the whole thing unfold.

One journalist mentioned that around 1,200 people were evacuated. Before they got everything under control, there was some worry that there might actually be a fire, based on early reports.

People were posting on social media, saying things like, “A fire is raging at the Eiffel Tower!” and “The monument has just been evacuated!” It definitely had everyone on edge for a bit.

Another person chimed in, saying they saw flames in the elevator shaft and that everyone nearby had to be cleared out while firefighters worked on the situation.
