An inquest has opened into the tragic death of Edward Roberts, who suffered serious head injuries in Lincoln
Lincoln: So, there’s been a really sad story coming out of Lincoln. Edward Roberts, who was 55, was found dead with serious head injuries. The police got called to Carholme Road late on a Sunday night, and sadly, he didn’t make it.
The coroner, Paul Smith, opened an inquest into Eddie’s death at Lincoln Coroner’s Court. It turns out he lived alone and worked as a lorry driver. It’s just heartbreaking to think about.
According to the coroner’s officer, Tracy Cox, Eddie passed away on December 9, 2024, and a doctor confirmed his death. They did a post-mortem the next day, and it looks like the cause was a head injury, but they’re still waiting on some tests.
The inquest is on hold for now because the police are still investigating. They plan to pick it back up on June 10, 2025. In the meantime, Lincolnshire Police have charged a 37-year-old man named Max Skidmore with manslaughter related to this tragic incident.
