Edinburgh RNLI crews quickly rescued a group stranded on Cramond Island after being cut off by the tide
Edinburgh: On Saturday, the RNLI crews jumped into action when a group got stuck off the coast. They were cut off by the tide on Cramond Island.
The RNLI Queensferry Lifeboat team got their first call of 2025 and headed straight to the scene. Three people were stranded and needed help.
Once they were safely rescued, the group was taken back to Cramond Village. There, they were handed over to the South Queensferry Coastguard Team.
In a Facebook post, the RNLI shared their experience, saying they were called out at 3:10 PM to assist the three individuals. They reminded everyone to check safe crossing times before visiting Cramond Island.
Just a few weeks earlier, the RNLI had to rescue another group of nine people and a dog from the same island. Those folks were pretty cold when help arrived.
The lifeboat crew brought them back to Cramond, where coastguard teams took over. As winter sets in, the RNLI urged everyone to dress warmly and stay alert to changing weather.
Even during the festive season, the RNLI volunteers are always ready to respond, 24/7, whenever they’re needed.
