The popular Itsu restaurant in Edinburgh has suddenly closed, leaving fans disappointed and wondering about its future reopening plans
Edinburgh: A beloved spot, Itsu at St James’ Quarter has shut down unexpectedly. It opened in 2022 to huge crowds, with people lining up to try the sushi.
Now, though, the doors are closed, and there’s no word on when it might reopen. The restaurant chain mentioned some tricky franchise issues with HWS Ltd as the reason.
This location was one of three franchises under HWS Ltd, and they’re still sorting out the lease and ownership details due to some administrative hiccups.
A note on the door said, “The Itsu here in Edinburgh is closed and will hopefully fully reopen soon. We are sorry for the inconvenience.”
They’re hopeful for a quick resolution, saying, “This restaurant had to close while things are sorted out. We hope to reopen soon, and we will keep you updated on itsu.com.”
So, if you were a fan, hang tight! They’ll keep everyone posted on what’s happening.
