EasyJet has alerted travelers about the critical need for booking names to match passport details, or risk facing issues at the airport.
London: EasyJet is sounding the alarm for passengers. They need to make sure the name on their flight booking matches exactly with their passport. This came to light when a traveler asked if using a preferred name instead of their full passport name would be a problem.
The traveler wondered if booking as “Adam Khan” instead of “Mohammad Adam Khan” would cause issues. EasyJet confirmed that this mismatch would indeed be a problem, stressing that the booking name must align with the passport.
They also mentioned that it’s possible to fix this through the ‘Manage Booking’ feature on their website. The airline’s site highlights the importance of matching the full name, including middle names, with the ID used for travel.
Just a heads up, there might be fees if you need to change your booking details. For example, changing a name online costs £55, while doing it through customer service is £60. But if it’s just a spelling mistake or a title change, that’s free.
One customer shared that they managed to change their name without any charges through an online chat. They had made a mistake while booking for a large group, but the ‘Manage Bookings’ feature helped them fix it easily.
This feature also allows you to change flight times, dates, and even add luggage or sports equipment. If you need to cancel within 24 hours of booking, there’s a fee of £49 online or £55 through customer service.
For name changes, EasyJet’s website states that title changes and minor spelling corrections (up to three characters) can be done for free online or via their app. Just log in with the email and password used for the original booking to make those changes.
