Dudley: It’s been over two years since that heartbreaking incident at Fairytales Day Nursery. A little boy tragically lost his life, and the investigation is still going strong.

On December 9, 2022, emergency services rushed to the nursery after reports of a one-year-old in critical condition. Despite their best efforts, he sadly couldn’t be saved.

West Midlands Police jumped right in, treating the case as suspicious. They arrested three women shortly after the incident, suspecting them of gross negligence manslaughter.

Then, in early January 2023, three more women were taken into custody, with some facing charges related to corporate manslaughter. It’s a tough situation, and the police are still piecing everything together.

As of now, six people are on bail while the investigation continues. Ofsted even stepped in, closing the nursery for good in April 2023 after suspending its registration.
