A shocking incident on the M25 saw a drunk driver swerving and driving the wrong way, causing chaos before crashing into a roundabout
Chatham: You won’t believe what just happened on the M25! A drunk driver was caught on dashcam swerving all over the place before heading straight into oncoming traffic. It was a wild ride that lasted about ten minutes.
The driver, Walerij Mirosznikow, 53, originally from Russia but living in Chatham, was behind the wheel of his Toyota Yaris. He was first spotted zigzagging on the M25 back in July 2023. Things got really crazy when he drove onto the A25 near Sevenoaks, where he made a risky five-point turn and ended up facing the wrong way.
Can you imagine the confusion for other drivers? They had to stop and dodge him as he barreled through two lanes of traffic. One driver even jumped out of their car to yell at him to stop. It’s a miracle no one got hurt!
Eventually, Mirosznikow crashed into a roundabout in Westerham, where the police arrested him. He was alone in the car and had a breath-alcohol reading of 136mcg, way over the legal limit of 35mcg. The judge said it was a miracle that no one was injured during his reckless driving spree.
In court, it was revealed that Mirosznikow didn’t use his indicators and drove erratically, causing other drivers to slam on their brakes to avoid him. The prosecutor described his driving as “atrocious.”
After the incident, Mirosznikow admitted to dangerous driving and drink-driving. He was fined for driving without a license, but the more serious charges went to crown court for sentencing.
His lawyer argued that this behavior was out of character for him, saying he was going through a tough time after a recent divorce. Mirosznikow has since stopped drinking and is trying to turn his life around.
In the end, he received a suspended jail sentence, a year-long driving ban, and was ordered to do community service. He’s got a long road ahead, but hopefully, this will be a wake-up call for him.
