The North London club Drumsheds can continue operations despite recent drug-related deaths and a stabbing, with new safety measures in place
London: The Drumsheds club in North London is still in business after some serious incidents. Recently, two people died from drug-related issues, and there was a stabbing. A 27-year-old man passed away in October, and a 29-year-old woman died in December after being at the club. Plus, a man was stabbed in November.
Last week, the club’s organizers had a sit-down with Enfield Council to talk about their license. They decided the club could stay open but with some new rules that they’re keeping under wraps.
Cllr Susan Erbil from Enfield Council mentioned that the safety of residents is their top priority. The licensing committee listened to the police and the club’s management before deciding to let them keep their license but with some changes.
Enfield Council and the police will keep an eye on the club to make sure they follow the new conditions. It’s up to the club to stick to these rules.
Drumsheds is a huge venue, taking up 608,000 square feet and holding up to 15,000 people. It opened in October 2023 in the old Tottenham IKEA building. The venue is run by Broadwick Live, which also managed Printworks before it closed.
A spokesperson for Drumsheds confirmed that they can keep operating at full capacity. They’ve been working hard to add more safety measures and have a good relationship with the police, who haven’t tried to take away their license.
They also said that they’ve been collaborating with the police to improve safety at the venue. Drumsheds aims to be a top spot for big-name artists and events, contributing to London’s reputation for live music.
They’re excited about the future and look forward to hosting amazing events. If you want to stay updated on the latest happenings in London, you can sign up for alerts from the MyLondon team.
