Looking ahead, the mobile driver’s licence will be tested in 2025, with a full rollout expected by the end of 2027. The GOV.UK app will also help you navigate government services more easily, with features like an AI chatbot and reminders for important tasks.
By 2027, the GOV.UK Wallet will include various documents, like veteran cards and DBS checks, for those who want to go digital. Traditional paper documents will still be available for those who prefer them.
Peter Kyle emphasized that this change will make dealing with government services much easier. No more endless phone calls or sifting through piles of letters! Transport secretary Heidi Alexander called it a game changer, making everyday tasks faster and more secure.
And for veterans, there’s even more good news. They’ll be the first to access the digital wallet, making it easier to verify their status and access benefits. It’s all about making life better for everyone who has served.
