Motorists in Sneyd Green are experiencing significant delays due to temporary traffic lights following a manhole cover collapse
Sneyd Green: Drivers are really feeling the pinch on the A53 right now. There are some serious delays because of temporary traffic lights that just went up. It all started when a manhole cover collapsed, and now they’re working on fixing it.
The lights are set up near the junction with Berwick Road, and let me tell you, it’s been a nightmare during rush hour this week. With the wintry weather, the roads have been super busy, and everyone’s trying to stick to the main routes to avoid getting stuck.
Queues have been stretching from Stockton Brook all the way to Cobridge lights. People are saying it’s been bumper-to-bumper, which is never fun. And to make matters worse, emergency repairs are kicking off today to sort out that collapsed manhole cover.
Residents had been complaining about the noise from the cover for weeks, and now it’s finally given in. Community leaders are advising everyone to allow extra time if they’re heading through Sneyd Green. It’s going to be a bit of a slog for a while.
