A high-speed police chase in Rayleigh ended with a driver crashing into a tree
Rayleigh: So, there was this wild police chase where a guy hit speeds of 135mph! It all went down early Saturday morning when he took off in a grey BMW.
The police thought the car was stolen, so they tried to pull him over. But nope, he just kept going, zooming past 100mph on the A13. Crazy, right?
He sped through Tilbury and Chadwell St Mary before crashing into a tree near Hume Avenue. And get this, he actually tried to run away after the crash!
Luckily, Essex Police were nearby and caught him. They arrested the 19-year-old for a bunch of stuff, including dangerous driving and not having insurance.
Chief Inspector Julia Finch said the officers handled the situation well and that there was no real threat to the community. They’re trained for this kind of thing, especially in cold weather.
Now, the investigation is in the hands of the Southend officers. What a night, huh?
