A driver in North Wales was arrested after recording an astonishing alcohol level, raising serious safety concerns for the community
Anglesey: So, there was this guy, Aaron Kerr, who really pushed the limits when it comes to drinking and driving. He got pulled over last July and blew a staggering 358mg of alcohol per 100ml of blood. That’s more than four times the legal limit!
People in the area were worried and called the cops because they saw him driving his red Vauxhall Viva all over the place. An officer happened to be nearby and rushed over to see what was going on. He saw the car being driven in a way that was just plain dangerous.
After a quick roadside breath test, which showed a reading of 212 microgrammes for 100ml of breath, the officer arrested him. The legal limit is only 35, so you can imagine how serious this was.
They took Kerr to the hospital, and two hours later, he gave that shocking blood reading. He ended up in court and got an 18-week prison sentence along with a 72-month driving ban. Talk about a wake-up call!
After the sentencing, Chief Inspector Caroline Mullen-Hurst expressed how lucky it was that no one got hurt that day. She called his actions despicable and thanked the locals who reported him. It’s a reminder that North Wales Police are serious about tackling drink and drug driving.
They recently shared their Christmas campaign results, showing a lot of arrests for drink and drug driving. The police are committed to keeping the roads safe all year round.
