A man led police on a chase before being found with drugs and a drone in his hire car in Leicestershire
Leicestershire: So, there was this guy, Theo Powell, who decided to take off from the cops in a hire car. It all went down when officers were on the lookout for drug activity in the Midlands.
They spotted him on the M6 and, of course, he didn’t stop. Instead, he took off, leading them on a wild chase that crossed into Leicestershire. Talk about a risky move!
The chase finally ended when the police managed to stop him in Burbage, near Hinckley. When they searched the hire car, they found a parcel wrapped in clingfilm that was packed with drugs, plus a drone. What a catch!
After digging a bit deeper, the police found more evidence at his home in Redditch, linking him to drug supply. They even recovered a large package of drugs from there.
Powell ended up facing some serious charges, including possession with intent to supply various classes of drugs and dangerous driving. He was sentenced to five years in prison at Warwick Crown Court.
Detective Constable Matthew Rapkins, who was on the case, emphasized how drug supply affects vulnerable people in the community. He mentioned that they’re committed to tackling drug-related crimes and encouraged anyone with info to reach out.
