Wolverhampton: A driver lost his life in a crash that happened early in the morning. The unfortunate incident took place when his car hit a wall at the junction of Ettingshall Road and Bilston Road.

Emergency services rushed to the scene around 1:35 AM. Firefighters and medics worked hard to free the man, who was trapped inside the vehicle. Sadly, despite their efforts, he couldn’t be saved.

A spokesperson from West Midlands Ambulance Service shared that they found the driver in critical condition after the collision. They did everything they could to help him, but it was too late.

Bilston Road was closed in both directions while investigations were underway. The closure stretched from Stowheath Lane to Cable Street, causing some traffic issues.

Tram services between Priestfield and Wolverhampton were also affected. Passengers were advised to use National Express West Midlands’ bus service 79 or West Midlands Railway trains instead.
