Plymouth: A new report has come out showing that Devon has the highest rate of dangerous driving in the South West. It’s a bit shocking, right?

According to the Home Office, police recorded 134 dangerous driving incidents in Devon and Cornwall last year. Sadly, some of these led to serious injuries or even deaths.

When you break it down, Plymouth tops the list with 96 dangerous driving cases over the last three years. That’s a lot for one city!

But here’s the kicker: when you look at the population, Torbay actually has the highest rate of dangerous driving. They had 65 incidents, which is pretty concerning.

To put it in perspective, for every 100,000 people eligible to drive in Torbay, there were 56 dangerous driving offences. That’s one for every 1,964 people!

In comparison, Plymouth has a rate of 44 offences per 100,000, which is still significant. It’s clear that some areas are struggling more than others.

Dangerous driving includes things like speeding, aggressive driving, or even driving under the influence. It’s serious stuff that can lead to hefty fines or even jail time.

Interestingly, Bradford is the real dangerous driving capital of England and Wales, with a staggering 247 offences per 100,000 people. That’s one for every 420 drivers!

It’s a tough situation, and it seems like the north of England is facing the biggest challenges with dangerous driving. Let’s hope things improve soon!
