Derby: Tim Peake, the former UK astronaut, is making a stop in Derby in 2025 at the new Becketwell Arena. After a successful run in 2024, he’s back to celebrate space travel.
Tickets for his event will go on sale Friday, January 24. During the show on Saturday, October 11, Tim will share stories from his six-month mission at the International Space Station.
Becketwell Arena made the announcement on Facebook, saying, “Derby! We’ve got a truly out-of-this-world announcement for you. UK Astronaut Tim Peake will be docking at Becketwell Live as part of his amazing UK tour.”
He’ll discuss some of the most exciting space missions ever, making it a must-see for space fans with questions. This event is one of the first for the new £45.8 million venue, set to open this spring.
The arena will hold 3,500 people and host a variety of acts. The first act announced was the 1980s soft rock band Wet Wet Wet. They’re gearing up for over 200 events each year, bringing in an extra 250,000 visitors to Derby.
Plus, they’re hiring 200 local jobs to help with all the upcoming events. It’s an exciting time for the city!
