A Derby school’s head teacher is thrilled with a recent Ofsted report praising staff and students for their hard work and dedication
Derby: The head teacher at Rosehill Infant and Nursery School is over the moon about their latest Ofsted report. It’s been called “wonderful,” and it’s easy to see why. The school, which has 212 pupils, has kept its “good” rating from the last inspection back in 2020.
The report highlights that the kids are happy and well cared for. It mentions how the staff really go the extra mile to help them learn. Plus, the school offers a fun and ambitious curriculum with loads of exciting activities, like special visitors and events.
Inspector Claire Stylianides noted that the students feel like they’re part of “one big happy family.” Parents also feel included, joining in for yoga, playgroups, and English classes. One parent said the school goes above and beyond for both families and kids.
Recently, the school even snagged an award for getting parents involved in their children’s education. Despite the diverse languages spoken in the community, communication is strong and effective.
Helen Kelk, the head teacher, expressed her joy over the positive inspection outcome. She said, “This is a wonderful report. The school continues to be rated as a ‘good’ school.” While the inspection was ungraded, it still showcased many strengths and successes.
What’s working well? The pupils are respectful and celebrate their unique cultures. They’re happy, well-supported, and take pride in their work. The school also focuses on early education, helping kids get a great start.
Ofsted did suggest a few areas for improvement, like making sure students know exactly what they need to learn and giving them more chances to practice. Overall, it sounds like Rosehill is doing a fantastic job!
