Dublin: So, there’s this big trial coming up for Kelly Noble, the woman who has quite the past. She’s set to face court in about eight weeks for allegedly assaulting her son’s girlfriend, Chloe Ellison.

The judge, Shalom Binchy, has marked March 14 for the hearing at Dublin District Court. Kelly, who’s 39, has a serious history, having served time for manslaughter after stabbing a young mother back in 2006.

Both Kelly and her son Kyle pleaded not guilty to the charges last month. The incident supposedly took place on November 2, 2023, in Dublin 2. It’s a pretty serious charge under the Non-Fatal Offences Against the Person Act.

Interestingly, the Director of Public Prosecutions decided this case can stay at the District Court level, which is a bit less severe than the Circuit Court. That means if they’re found guilty, the penalties won’t be as harsh.

Oh, and just to add some context, Chloe is actually Kelly’s son’s girlfriend. The defense lawyer thinks the whole case will wrap up in about an hour, so it should be a quick one.

Next month, Kelly will also be back in court for some public order issues she’s already admitted to. Those happened back in June 2020 and include being drunk and using threatening language.

She’s had a rough history, having served four and a half years of a six-year sentence for manslaughter. Her mother, Jacqui, also has a dark past, having been jailed for hiring someone to kill her abusive partner.

It’s a tangled web of family drama and crime, and it’ll be interesting to see how this trial unfolds. Stay tuned for updates!
