Mike De Decker shares his feelings after being left out of the Premier League Darts despite his recent success in the sport
Leicester: Mike De Decker is feeling pretty bummed out after not making the cut for the 2025 Premier League Darts. It’s a real letdown, especially since he just snagged the World Grand Prix title last October.
At 29, De Decker had a fantastic run at The Mattioli Arena, taking down some big names like Damon Heta and Gary Anderson. He even made it to the quarter-finals at the Players Championship. But then came the World Championship, where he didn’t quite shine. He was expected to do well but ended up losing in the second round to Luke Woodhouse.
That performance, along with the feeling that he wasn’t quite ready, led to him being left out of the Premier League lineup. Instead, players like Luke Littler, Michael van Gerwen, and Gerwyn Price got the nod. Price, who’s from Cardiff, has had his ups and downs but still made the team.
De Decker didn’t hold back on social media about his snub. He shared a post showing he’s the first player in the Premier League’s history to win a major title on Sky Sports and still not get picked. He even added a rolling eyes emoji to his Instagram story, making it clear how he feels.
Even though De Decker won’t be in the Premier League, the tournament kicks off at The SSE Arena in Belfast on February 6 and wraps up at The O2 in London on May 29. Price’s home event will be at the Utilita Arena in Cardiff on March 20.
