Get ready for some closures at the Dartford Crossing in early February, affecting your travel plans. Here’s what you need to know!
And it’s not just the bridge; the west tunnel is also getting some TLC with weeknight closures for inspections and repairs. The last weekend closure for the bridge is done, but now it’s time to focus on the tunnels.
From January 27 to February 9, the west tunnel will be closed on weeknights from 9 PM to 6 AM. But don’t worry, the east tunnel will stay open overnight to keep traffic flowing on the M25 and A282.
They’re also doing safety inspections on weekends, so both tunnels will be closed at different times. Just a heads up from National Highways: closures can change quickly, so keep an eye out for updates.
Here’s a quick rundown of the closures:
– January 27 to 30: West tunnel closed from 9 PM to 5:30 AM
– January 31: West tunnel closed from 9 PM to 6 AM
– February 1: West tunnel closed from 10 PM to 5 AM
– February 2: East tunnel closed from 10 PM to 5 AM (no big vehicles allowed)
– February 3 to 6: West tunnel closed from 9 PM to 5:30 AM
– February 7: West tunnel closed from 9 PM to 6 AM
– February 8: West tunnel closed from 10 PM to 5 AM
– February 9: East tunnel closed from 10 PM to 5 AM (again, no big vehicles)
For diversions, if you’re under 4.8m high, you’ll be sent through the west tunnel. If you’re between 4.8m and 5.0m, you’ll need to take the M25 clockwise. And for the west tunnel, everyone will be diverted through the east tunnel. Just plan ahead and stay safe out there!
