Danny Dyer opens up about his kids’ reaction to his role in Rivals
London: So, Danny Dyer recently spilled the beans on why his kids were in tears and even banned him from the school run. Can you believe it? It all happened because of his role in the new show Rivals.
In Rivals, Danny plays Freddie Jones, a self-made electronics businessman stuck in a loveless marriage. He had to change his look completely for the part, which shocked his kids. They were like, “Dad, you can’t pick us up from school looking like that!”
He shared this on Rivals The Official Podcast, saying he had to wear a wig and a moustache. His kids, Sunny Jo and Arty, were so taken aback by the transformation that they thought he was unrecognizable. But after a while, they got used to it and even started to like it.
Danny mentioned that he was looking for a change in his career, and this role came at the perfect time. He felt it was a great opportunity to try something different, and he really embraced the character. It’s nice to see how he’s adapting and having fun with it!
Rivals is based on a novel by Dame Jilly Cooper and is set in the 1980s. It dives into the rivalry between two powerful men in the world of television. If you haven’t checked it out yet, it’s available on Disney Plus!
