Liverpool: Kemal Coskuncay feels right at home in Liverpool, even though he’s lived in other places. He’s a proud Scouser now.

This dad is aiming for the title of Chef of The Year, saying, “We are Scouse, we always win.” He runs a dining and consultation business called Private Delicacies in South Liverpool.

At 47, he’s worked with some of the best restaurants in the area, like Al Dente and Casa Rima. His hard work paid off when he got shortlisted for the British Kebab Awards 2025.

After hearing the news, he told the ECHO that while there are many talented chefs across the UK, he’s the only one from Liverpool nominated. He’s got that Scouse pride!

Kemal’s had a busy year, but he still makes time for Liverpool games with his family. They’re all excited about the team’s chances this season, hoping for a championship and a win at the Kebab Awards.

He moved to Merseyside in 2020 with his wife and kids after a successful run as a private chef in London. He’s been in the food industry for over thirty years, starting as a dishwasher when he was a teen.

Since then, he’s honed his skills and even cooked for some of his football heroes. He’s served legends like Peter Crouch and Ian Callaghan, which is a dream come true for him.

Kemal loves Liverpool and has always wanted to live there. He’s a huge Liverpool FC fan, and so are his kids. Serving food to Liverpool legends is just icing on the cake.

He appreciates the friendly people of Liverpool who really value good food and service. Being recognized as one of the best chefs in the country is great, but being acknowledged by Scousers means even more to him.

His love for Liverpool started back in 2005 during a Champions League match against Milan. Even though he supports Beşiktaş J.K. in Turkey, he was thrilled for Liverpool after that game.

Kemal has watched many matches at Anfield with his family, and he’s excited for the upcoming British Kebab Awards on February 26, 2025, in London. It’s a big deal, and he can’t wait to see how it all turns out!
