New Brighton: Steve Kisby took a rundown house and turned it into a beautiful family home. He and his wife, Sally, moved there six years ago with big dreams.

They had never been to the North before, but after visiting Steve’s sister, they fell in love with the area. One day, his sister spotted a for-sale sign and urged them to check it out.

When Steve saw how cheap the house was, he couldn’t resist. He arrived in New Brighton with just a suitcase, ready to tackle the renovation.

At first, the place was a total disaster. Steve lived there alone for eight months because it was too dangerous for his family. The house was falling apart, and he was scared to use the bath!

But the view was incredible. He described it as a £50k house with a £200k view. That’s what sold him on it. Over the years, he put in countless hours fixing it up for his family.

Now, they enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and the area is peaceful. They even have a beach right across the street where they take their dogs.

However, things have changed. Their kids have grown up and moved out, and Steve feels a bit too far from them now. He recently found a new project—a detached old courthouse that he’s excited to convert.

He’s sad to leave New Brighton, where they’ve made so many memories. The community has been warm and welcoming, and he feels blessed to have lived there.

Now, the house is on the market for offers over £550,000. It’s bittersweet for Steve, but he’s ready for his next adventure.
