Bangkok: A tourist named James Sangwine is missing. He traveled there for a holiday on January 18. James, 33, is from Epping, Essex. He planned to visit a British friend living in Thailand.
His partner, Katie, hasn’t heard from him since January 20. That day, he was supposed to meet friends at a bar. He didn’t call to wish his son a happy birthday the next day. He also missed his flight home on January 24.
Katie is worried. She says his phone seems off, and he hasn’t contacted family in ten days. “He sent me a photo from his hotel and mentioned the bar,” she said. “That was the last time we spoke.”
James tried to call her while at the bar, but she was asleep. Now, she has reported him missing to the Royal Thai Police. However, she hasn’t received any updates and fears the case isn’t being investigated.
“Even if he has passed away, we need to know,” Katie said. “Someone must know where he is.” A local couple who met James at the bar texted Katie, confirming he was last seen there. The British Embassy in Bangkok has been contacted for more information.
