A crowdfunding campaign is underway to support the family of Leo Ross, a schoolboy tragically killed in a stabbing incident.
Birmingham: A heartbreaking incident unfolded when 12-year-old Leo Ross was fatally stabbed on his way home from school. It happened in Hall Green on January 21.
Leo was just leaving school when he was attacked on Scribers Lane. Sadly, he passed away in a Birmingham hospital just four hours later.
Authorities arrested a 14-year-old boy on suspicion of murder. This same teen is also being questioned about an unrelated assault on an elderly woman a few days prior.
In the wake of this tragedy, a family friend named Kyle Hotchkins set up a GoFundMe page to help cover Leo’s funeral expenses. The response has been overwhelming, with donations quickly surpassing £1,300.
The goal is to raise £4,500, and any extra funds will go into a trust for Leo’s younger sister. Kyle shared on the GoFundMe page that no child should have to face such violence.
He wrote, “Twelve-year-old Leo Ross was fatally stabbed on his way home from school. All money raised will help with Leo’s funeral costs, and the rest will support his sister.”
It’s a tough situation, and the community is rallying together to support Leo’s family during this difficult time.
