Firefighters rushed to a Tesla ablaze outside a restaurant in Kilmarnock, leaving locals surprised and concerned about the incident.
Kilmarnock: Last night, fire crews rushed to tackle a Tesla that was on fire outside the Beijing Banquet restaurant. It was quite a scene, and folks were definitely taken aback.
The emergency services got the call around 5:58 PM. They quickly arrived at Queen’s Drive in the Riccarton area. Thankfully, no one was hurt, but the car was engulfed in flames.
Videos shared online showed the fire blazing through the entire vehicle. One clip even caught flames shooting out from under the wheel arch. It was pretty intense!
People in the area had a lot to say about it. One person joked that at least the fire would help with the icy roads. Others were less amused, with comments about electric cars catching fire. It seems like opinions were flying!
A spokesperson from the Scottish Fire and Rescue said they sent one appliance to put out the fire. Police Scotland also showed up to help manage traffic around the scene.
It’s a reminder that while electric cars are becoming more popular, they can still have their issues. Let’s hope everyone stays safe out there!
